Alibaba Cloud Model Studio (Qwen)

Alibaba Cloud Model Studio is the enterprise API platform for Qwen's proprietary and open-weight models, used by platform engineers and application teams building production AI features. Model Studio holds SOC 2 Type II certification covering security, availability, and confidentiality; Alibaba states API data is not used for training, with AES-256 encryption in transit. Three models are offered with differential pricing which scales with their capabilities: Qwen-Turbo, Qwen-Plus, and flagship Qwen3.7-Max. Most model sizes (0.6B-235B, Mixture-of-Experts) are Apache 2.0 licensed via Hugging Face and ModelScope, enabling self-hosting on owned or custom cloud infrastructure; flagship proprietary models remain API-only, with a commercial license required above $50 million revenue. Qwen3 models use sparse Mixture-of-Experts architecture and support up to one-million-token context; open weights allow quantization and fine-tuning with standard tooling. This open licensing and lower per-token pricing contrast with most Western frontier models' managed-only, proprietary access.
