The Stardog Semantic AI Platform is an enterprise knowledge graph platform built on W3C standards — RDF, OWL, and SPARQL — that connects data across disparate enterprise sources without moving or copying it, using data virtualisation to query data where it lives. The core database is an RDF triplestore with an OWL reasoning and inference engine that applies ontologies and business rules at query time, enabling it to derive new facts from existing data and harmonise conflicting definitions across sources. Ontologies are built and managed in Stardog Designer, a visual no-code environment. Data from SQL databases, data lakes, APIs, and unstructured documents is mapped to the semantic model without requiring migration. The platform includes three main components alongside the database: Stardog Explorer, a visual interface for navigating and exploring graph connections; Stardog Voicebox, a natural language AI agent that combines LLMs with the knowledge graph to answer questions with traceable, sourced responses rather than hallucinated output; and an inference engine that provides explainable, auditable reasoning with data lineage at query time. Recent releases have added ontology-driven extraction from unstructured documents, synthetic data generation from ontology models, MCP protocol support, and geospatial analytics. It is used in regulated and data-intensive industries — defence, pharmaceuticals, financial services, and aerospace — where data governance, explainability, and the ability to reason across siloed systems are requirements. Customers include NASA, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Raytheon.
