Lithos Carbon is a carbon dioxide removal company specializing in enhanced rock weathering. It partners with farmers to spread crushed basalt or wollastonite on croplands, raising soil pH and improving soil health while removing atmospheric CO2 that is eventually stored as ocean carbonates. It uses proprietary soil models, machine learning and empirical measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) to track carbon from farm to ocean, and issues registry-certified carbon removal credits (Isometric, Puro.earth) to buyers such as Frontier. It was founded by Mary Yap and Yale and Georgia Tech professors Noah Planavsky and Chris Reinhard.
