PowerWorld Corporation develops power system analysis and visualization software and related services. Founded in 1996 by Professor Thomas Overbye and colleagues from the University of Illinois, it serves transmission planners, system operators, power marketers, educators and others. Its product line includes Simulator, Retriever, Trainer, OPS-X Trainer, TransLineCalc and the free Viewer, complemented by training, engineering support, customized software development, diagram development and consulting services. It has over 1,000 customers in 70 countries.
