QEA Tech

QEA Tech is a Markham-based startup founded in 2019 that specialises in building envelope analytics. It began as a research project at a local technology incubator. It combines industrial drones, thermography and patented AI software to measure how much energy escapes through a building's walls, roofs and windows, an area most energy management tools overlook. Over roughly 1,300 buildings audited, mainly across North America, QEA has built a database of more than a million data points on the real-world thermal performance of envelope materials. Owners in the public sector, commercial real estate and higher education use its findings to prioritise envelope retrofits.
